Future of the Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA)
DORA is a global initiative that campaigns for and supports improving ways we assess research and researchers. Research assessment reform is not a single policy challenge with a single solution. It is a system‑level undertaking, shaped by interactions between multiple actors.
As the global conversation around responsible research assessment continues to evolve, so does DORA. They are therefore asking the question: what should DORA focus on next?
DORA is inviting the global research community to help shape DORA’s 2027-2030 Strategic Plan. Share what’s working, where change is hardest, and how DORA can best support reform across contexts. The insights we gather will directly inform discussions within DORA’s planning process throughout 2026.
- Whose input are they looking for? Researchers, those working in funders, research performing institutions, publishers, scholarly societies, and partner initiatives. DORA welcomes responses from everyone across the research ecosystem and at all career stages.
