MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships Call 2026

The MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship 2026 call is expected to open on the 9th of April with an indicative deadline on 9 September 2026.

Postdoctoral Fellowships support post-doctoral research and careers in all scientific fields. Supported researchers have a PhD and a maximum of 8 years of post-PhD research experience. This limit can be extended for several reasons (e.g. maternity leave, paternity leave, …).

Host institutions need to be located in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country. Optional secondments during the fellowship can be in any country worldwide. Optional placements in an organisation in the non-academic sector (Non-Academic Placements) in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country are added at the end of the project. The grant amount depends on the number of person-months. The postdoctoral fellowships have a duration between 12 and 36 months (depending on the type).

Support at Ghent University

Master Class 2026

Ghent University is organizing an online free-of-charge MSCA Master Class in three modules on June 9th, June 16th and June 23rd 2026, from 10:00 to 15:00 CET.

Together, the supervisor and the fellow will send in the application form to the EU-team (deadline 30 April 2026, 12:00 CET) where they demonstrate the mutual knowledge transfer which will take place between the fellow and the supervisor. This is an essential condition for a competitive proposal.

In previous years, applicants who attended our Master Class doubled their chances of success in the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships call.
